horrifyingly mundane; so overly normal that it's creepy.
Ugh, I hate this neighborhood! It's so hypernormal that all the houses look the same!

a shittier way to say uncanny valley that nobody has ever heard of
Person 1; hey, have you seen the urban dictionary word of the day?
Person 2; yeah, isnt it hypernormal?
Person 1; yeah, doesnt that just mean the exact same as an uncanny valley effect?

The surreal state of late-stage communism in which semantic basis of consensus reality is absurdity.
Analogous to the hyperreal state of late-stage capitalism (postmodernism) in which subjective (individualistic) reality contra-referentializes into intersubjective (synthetic) reality.
Hypernormalization was an absurdist era of consensus reality that befell the Soviet Union in the early 90's.

An adjective describing something so very incredibly mundane it gets so hard to imagine. It's so much more ordinary than everything else in its normality. A paradox, honestly. If something is so normal it makes it stand out, then doesn't that make it unique in a way? The opposite is hyponormal, but surely they mean the same thing...
Person 1: Hey, she tries to fit in so much that she's hypernormal.
Person A: You're making up words by putting 'hyper' in front of them. Besides, maybe she's so much more normal that she's not like other girls ;)

A neighborhood that is unbearable to live in for the people that hate it.
The girl got out of the hypernormal neighborhood, and never came back or looked back. She found somewhere she loved and belonged when she finally realized she didn't own the town the way she thought she did for so long. She had a neighborhood of her own somewhere, even if she didn't hold it sacred.
