Dick: Another $50-ball? That guy is amazing.
Tom: Yeah, and he traded up the wife for a 25 year-old physical therapist!
Dick: That guy is one major luck-up

When you fuck up, but it turns out alright.
I really fucked up and forgot to fill up my gas tank. Fortunately I ran out next to a gas station. I guess I lucked up.

'Lucked up' is when something seems to go bad and then unexpectedly turns out fine.
