Term of endearment for the late night meal served on Navy ships. Intended for those getting off watch around midnight who missed the earlier meal for sleep. From the official term: midrats, short for “midnight rations”
Watchstander 1: “One more hour of watch left, I can’t wait to get relieved and than get some tasty midscraps!”
Watchstander 2: “Its probably just chicken wheels again”.
Watchstander 1: “Naw, man, I heard they’re serving chili!”
