non-answer

The act of providing an reply to a question that does not give a any physical or concrete information. The non-answer dances around a subject so well that the end result is a jumble of words that say nothing. Politicians excel at non-answers.

The New York Post picks up on Bill Clinton's interview on Meet The Press, in which the former president could not bring himself to call Obama a "great man," as he did with McCain. He always was highly intelligent and always a very good politician." This non-answer is quoted from From MSNBC online.
