A very specific fear, known as the fear of crustaceans, or shellfish. The fear deals with a variety of subjects, such as Crabs, Shrimp, Lobsters, etc... The cause of Ostraconaphobia varies, from an unsightly fight or flight response near them or an actual dangerous encounter such as being pinched. Another cause comes from the common allergic reaction. Anyone that has ostraconaphobia might not be able to enter specific places where they know they'll be present like your local supermarket, Red Lobster, or maybe even wider and more vast places such as City Island, Maine, or even Asia. It's very likely that Ostraconaphobes might have panic attacks with the sight of one. Notably, NASCAR driver and 44 cup racer winner Denny Hamlin is a celebrity victim of this fear, recalling the many times he's had to pick a large Lobster up from its claws after he won the Sunday ISM Connect. He even had one in his toilet once.
John: "Wanna go to Maine next year?"
Alex: "Can't. I have Ostraconaphobia."
John: "Pfft, you have that lobster fear? Damn, that's rough."
