Potentiality

A potential or possible eventuality. Often used in an attempt to introduce uncertainty into a design process by designers not wishing to commit to a certain design pattern.

Plural: Potentialities.

Designer: Given the potentiality of the end solution veering significantly from the style guide, we shouldn't add more components and restrict our options down the road.

Or

Designer: There is no way to design one solution for all potentialities.

Potentially

The word used as an escape when commonly found in a tricky conversation. An easy answer for a yes or no question without consequences. The better form of Maybe. Often most affective when said while using hand gestures.

Speaker 1: "Did you punch yourself in the face while dancing awkwardly?"
Speaker 2: "um... eh. Potentially..."

The Potential

The term used to describe someone who you're more than friends with, but not in a relationship with. Short for "the potential boyfriend/girlfriend," it is used to define that awkward limbo phase where you're kinda dating/kinda seeing someone.

Son: Hey mom, where's Kelcey?

Mom: She's hanging out with Marco. I think he's The Potential.

Son: Oh geez, God help that poor boy.
