pthb

A sound made by pushing the tongue through the lips and creating a sound via the air flow and vibration while forcing air out of the mouth around the tongue. There are a variety of sounds such as the large sound around the tongue pthhhhb, but the short and sweet sound is made by shrinking the opening to a tiny hole on the top of the middle of the tongue.

This is a sound of showing emotion, and while the large sound is often dissatisfaction or annoyance, the small sound can be silly, fun, and even an expression of love. Small sounds between friends while passing can mean more than a whole conversation to "catch up"

There were two people passing in the hallway when one made a "pthb" sound just as their paths were about to converge. The second person hurried pressed their lips around their tongue and made a corresponding sound just quiet enough to hide amongst the general chatter of the school hallway.
