Pronunciation: \ˈshād-dəl\

Transitive verb: to keep the clutch partially engaged while accelerating with the gas pedal as a driver changes gears on an automobile with a manual transmission. This action causes an excessing revving of the engine and is often accompanied by laughter directed at the driver from others in the vehicle.

Etymology: German surname Schadl

As Jason struggled to shift smoothly from second to third gear in his aging 5-speed Honda Accord, Janice and Sarah roared raucously over the sound of the revving engine, "He shadled the clutch again!"

Bruce Shadle

Someone who tries to lift more than he should and injures themselves.

Did you see Bob try to lift that engine block. He Bruce Shadle himself and ended up needing surgery.

Shadle Park High School

A high school with grades 9-12 in Spokane,Washington's District 81 Public Schools system. As the name suggests, it is next to a park named Shadle. The school mascot is the Highlanders. It is currently going through a renovation/modernization project, which is estimated to cost $75 million dollars.

Its biggest rival is North Central High School.

A notable alumni is Mark Rypien who won Super Bowl XXVI as Quarter back with the Redskins defeating the Buffalo Bills.

I go to Shadle Park High School, i am a senior.
