Despite being male, I read a good deal of shoujo manga because of the interesting angst-filled plotlines.

First coined by Vtuber and Illustrator Ui Mama (Shigure Ui).
Taken inspiration from how Vtuber Hoshimachi Suisei uses the word “Shounen” to describes a male animanga body archetype distinct from your usual Shota, Ui decided to make a female version of the word.
Shoujo refers to female animanga characters that look just a little too old to be a Loli. (i.e. Hu Tao from Genshin Impact)

By-Shoujo Hentai, Usually refers to hentai containing buetiful girls or schoolgirls.

Anime, manga, or fanfic that depicts non-explicit lesbian relationships. Usually focuses on the romantic/ loving/ emotional side of the relationship, unlike yuri which focuses on the passionate/ lustful/ physical side. Usually no more than PG-13 rated.
Most people who are not against homosexuality would have no problem with their kids seeing shoujo-ai.

A great and wholesome anime. It is about a man who owns a candy shop and meets lots of new people. This anime was an emotional rollercoaster. Watch it with your family.

A type of anime/manga dealing with girl x girl love. As shounen ai is about boys in love, shoujo ai is about girls in love. Not hentai
The love of Tenjou Utena and Himemiya Anthy, from the series Revolutionary Girl Utena, is an example of a shoujo ai-type relationship.
