skimpflation

The act of businesses, often travel related, where a person pays the same or more, but receives less, often using COVID-19 as a bogus excuse, when it doesn’t apply.

Ex: Hotels cutting housekeeping, breakfast options and other perks; Airlines not hiring enough workers to handle irregular operations; restaurants using QR codes instead of printed menus or eliminating utensils, etc.

My annual vacation sucked this year. Due to skimpflation none of my upgrades cleared and I had to change my own sheets at my Category 6 hotel and then only got the choice of a continental breakfast instead of the usual buffet.
