soiree

A pretentious word to make a party sound fancy.

People pretending to be of a higher class than others.
Typically an evening party.

At the soiree at our estate we invited only a select group of douchebags.

Soiree

1. A grindfest

2. A formal dance that turns into a massive grindfest (or in extreme cases, it may turn into a massive orgy).

midday soiree

Pretentious, translation-challenged oxymoron that mistakes the meaning of the French word "soirรฉe" to be "party" instead of "evening." Refers to a meetup of haughty people probably in a yatch eating cucumber sandwiches and wearing breeches.

We look forward to a midday soiree of great company, intriguing conversation, tasty cocktails, and assorted entertainment at The Manor.
