sophomore

The forgotten year of high school. The freshmen are busy being freshmen: preppy girls freaking out about every grade they get, others just being generally immature. The juniors are busy with homework, and trying to get better grades so they can go to college. The seniors are busy partying and generally having a good time. No one really cares about the sophomores. In conversations with adults, when you tell them that you are a sophomore, they have nothing to say to you. It's not "a big change from middle school", you havent started thinking about colleges, and you havent applied to colleges. And thats all adults care about. Contributing to the suckyness is the fact that you have 2 more years after this one, and for a year the only thing you are looking foreward to is getting your license, which you feel you are thisclose to getting for the entire year.

Adult: What grade are you in?
Freshman: I'm a freshman.
Adult: Do you like high school? Is it very different from junior high school? Are you getting good grades?

Adult: What grade are you in?
Junior: I'm a junior.
Adult: What's your GPA? Have you started thinking about colleges? Are you bringing your grades up so you can get into college?

Adult: What grade are you in?
Senior: I'm a senior.
Adult: What colleges did you apply to? What do you want to major in?

Adult: What grade are you in?
Sophomore: I'm a sophomore.
Adult: Oh. (has nothing else to say)

Kid: What grade are you in?
Sophomore: I'm a sophomore.
Kid: Oh, that sucks for you.

sophomore

A second year student in highschool who thinks they are the coolest person in the world because they are no longer freshman.many still havent become the mature people they think they are. The sophomores are the ones who constantly pick on and make fun of freshman even though they were freshman just 3 months ago, while the juniors and seniors dont pay attenion to the freshman and think most sophomores are idiots

I'm a sophomore now! YAY!! Get out of my way you stupid little freshman!

sophomore

A person who is in their second year of high school or college. Most of the time, this term refers to the high school sophomores. It's the most important year academically, even more-so than freshman year. Most sophomores have matured a bit since freshman year. Many of them of generally good people. However, there are idiots that think they are the best thing since sliced bread because of the fact that they are sophomores. They buy into this idea and start picking on freshman. There are also people that haven't matured one bit since freshman year and still act as retarded, sex-obsessed, and jock-like as ever. Some sophomores actually get along with freshman. Seniors and juniors don't really care much about sophomores. There are a few who are actually friends with sophomores, however.

Sophomore 1: Hey, it's a freshman, let's go beat up his ass.

Sophomore 2: You can go right ahead. I'm staying right here.

*Sophomore 1 goes to a freshman and holds him up. A dean sees this and brings him to his office.*

sophomore

A sophomore is a student in their second year of high school or college. They are usually considered the useless class:
-the freshmen being the.. well, freshmen,
-the juniors are pressured from sats and realizing this is their last shot to fix their shitty gpa,
-and the seniors roaming the halls and doing absolutly nothing waiting to graduate, leaving the sophomores at a standstill doing the better part of nothing.

dude: wow. it sucks for garr that hes a freshmen, the seniors will probably annoy the hell out of him.

dude2: yeah i know. sucks for joe too now that hes a junior, sats and all that crap. good thing we're sophomores and dont have anything to do.

sophomore

Really the laid back year in high school and kids are the nicest. Classic teenagers. The only thing you really need to worry about sophomore year is getting a learners permit and maybe have an idea where you want to go to colllege, but the rest is a pretty easy ride. But you get pounded with a lot of homework that year and your classes are gritty. This is usually the year to read Shakespeare and you usually take an American History and Biology/Chemistry class that year. You may take world too in some schools.

These kids are usually head up your ass teenegers. A lot of dating, teen pregancies, anorexia, etc. The worry of fitting in is not as bad as 9th so you turn into slobs watching Family Guy. This is the age when you like to go old school and start liking classic rock. The teenage classic rock/indie heads are usually sophomores, but you get corporate by junior year.

Oh look at me an head up your ass sophomore watching Family Guy. College...eh...that is a long way.
