Whiskey Bent

Feeling a need to become intoxicated with whiskey in order to ease one’s sorrows and heartache.

"Play me some songs about a ramblin' man, put old Jim Beam in my hand
'cause you know I still love to get drunk and hear country sounds
But don't you play 'Your Cheatin' Heart' cause that'll tear me all apart
I'll get whiskey bent and hell bound"-Hank Williams Jr

Whiskey Bent

It is an idiom originating from the old West that refers to a person or thing stubbornly determined to do something.

The phrase was likely derived from moonshine runners in the past, who despite facing increasingly dangerous odds, were still β€œwhiskey bent” on delivering – and drinking – their illicit products.

The way one gets after downing too much whiskey. Wild Turky or So Co will do the trick. Screaming at trees or God while muttering half words is a common characteristic.

Sorry for slapping your girlfriend and pissing on your couch, I was pretty whiskey bent last night.
