be that as it may

A phrase used by someone who has been proved wrong with factual evidence. Instead of admitting their wrongness, they will simple reiterate the same argument and add "be that as it may" to suggest that they are compromising and admit some fault, but really don't feel any differently.

Person 1: I think your dog is shedding all over the couch

Person 2: Be that as it may, you still should vacuum it.

lawsuit bird

An angry irrational woman, usually a soccer mom, that doesn't have any rational or logical tactics in an arugment, so she will yell "LAWSUIT! LAWSUIT!" in a crow-like voice in order to get people to do what she wants. Hence: Lawsuit bird.

It is rare for a lawsuit bird to actually go forth with a lawsuit.

I was raised by a lawsuit bird, so I usually got any class I wnated in high school because the schools feared a lawsuit.

sacrifice double play

Where there are runners at first and second and the batter grounds into a double play. The runner on first is forced out, as is the batter, but the runner on second moves over to third.

Hence, a sacrifice double play.

Also known as a San Francisco sacrifice.

With Schierholtz on first and Sandoval on second, Aubrey "Audrey" Huff hits a weak ground ball to second for a 4-6-3 double play.

Sandoval goes to third. A sacrifice double play. A San Francisco sacrifice.

RINO

Republican In Name Only.

This is a pejorative term used to dismiss any moderate or liberal GOP members from getting nominated to run for president.

Any Republican who isn't a pro-life creationist who denies climate change gets hit with this label.

Because he admitted he believed in man-made climate change and accepted the theory of evolution, Jon Huntsman was labeled as a RINO and thus did very poorly in the GOP primaries in 2012

Mexican Insurance

Twenty dollar bills, so one can make change with all the Mexican people that buy everything with $100 bills, yes, even if they have twenties. Keeping twenties is insurance against the slowdown caused by having to get change for a $100 from someone else.

I saw a lot of Mexican families in line ready to mispronounce the name of the movie they wanted to see after taking 5 minutes standing in line to decide what that movie would be, so I made sure that I had plenty of Mexican Insurance on hand by keeping more twenties in my drawer.

statist

A term used by pseudo-Libertarians that get all their information from blogs or Reddit posts.

It means someone who supports any sort of state government in any situation.

When I suggested we should have both the post office and Fed-Ex, he called me a statist.
