Slang for "Shut up!", "STFU!", or "Silence!" The word originated from the controversial conception behind John Cage's famous composition, 4'33", in which the instrumentalists are instructed not to play their instruments for the duration of the piece (4 minutes and 33 seconds), effectively "creating silence" from the stage.
