Cobalt is a chemical element with symbol Co and atomic number 27. Like nickel, cobalt is found in the Earth's crust only in chemically combined form, save for small deposits found in alloys of natural meteoric iron. The free element, produced by reductive smelting, is a hard, lustrous, silver-gray metal.
The Chevrolet Cobalt SS (2005-2010) is currently the fastest front-wheel drive production car in the world, boasting 260 horsepower and a top speed of 155 mph with the turbocharged I-4. The Dodge Neon SRT-4 is often claimed to be the champion here, with a top speed of around 160 mph, but it is let down in the handling department...therefore the award goes to the Cobalt SS.
