Traditionally, a form of street surfing, originateing in california, see LBC or long boarding community, this also can mean long beach cali. this is not a coincidence. BUT longboards differ from shortboards in that they are designed for speed, smoothness and carving. Not major tricks and ollies. HOWEVER, Longboarding is more about the soul, like longboarding the surfboard, longboarders are almost always very laid back, chill, kind, and overall sick people. Riding a longboard is the ultimate form of freedom, and highly addicting.

A board made of multiple plys of many kinds of wood, it has wide trucks and big wheels. The Longboard will put all eyes on you. People will be brought to their knees from sheer awesomeness. You will wake up and be recognized as a God/Goddess. To ride the Longboard is to rule the World.

The commercial industry's cop-out for the skateboard. They mused, "How are we going to get kids to keep wasting their money on plywood on wheels?" Apparently, there is a bigger market for dumb-asses who can't ride bikes than there is for dumb-asses who want to hurt themselves.
