Stanning

The act of being overly obsessed with an artist/person/character/etc.

STalker + fAN = STAN

Eminem's song "Stan" embodied all the aspects of what it means to be a huge fanatic of a music artist, and the word has since been used to encompass all obsessive fan behavior.

My Xander love comes from my Buffy stanning.

I've been stanning Beyonce for so long I couldn't stop if I wanted to.

Stanning

Stanning is defending / supporting something or someone you really like no matter how problematic they are to the point of being obsessed, delusional or looking away from serious things that harm people, even if it harms the very thing/person you claim to love.

Why are you stanning them so hard??? We all saw what they did. It's on video!

Stanning

The act of standing at a beach or other sunny outdoor location in an attempt to get a tan. Most commonly done by Eastern Europeans.

At the beach in Varadero I noticed a large number of Russians stanning in the noon-day sun.

Stan

A reference to the Eminem song Stan. The song is about an overly obsessed fan (named Stan) who writes letters to eminem and ends up driving off a bridge with his pregnant wife, because Eminem didn't write him back.

The terms means a very very overzealous and obsessed fan of a celebrity/band/cast of a tvshow or movie.

Person 1: I just love Ariana Grande so much I would die for her I would track her every move if I could

Person 2: woah don't be such a stan
