This term is nearly always recognized and applied retroactively by perplexed NYC visitors reconciling childhood breakfast experiences with the rich, nutty, aromatic food they find themselves eating at Zabarâs, Murrayâs, Zuckerâs, Tal, H&H, or Absolute.
