Chaft

Chaft is derived from the words: chav, shaft and chaff.

It refers to people, usually lower middle class, who get enjoyment pitying those worse off than them, so they get a sense of importance.

Chafts are not usually rich, but like to pretend they are more superior than those with less money or possessions than them. They think they are some how better than chavs, or they 'feel sorry' for chavs, who they say have the right to be chavs.

In reality chafts only want chavs to exist so that there is someone worse off than them to feel superior over. Chafts resent chavs who get on in the world, especially if they do better than them.

Person A: Ever since my mom's friend became a magistrate she has always looked down on us.

Person B: She probably thinks she is more important than she is now she can decide whether or not people go to prison. She is just a chaft really.

McChav

Literally 'Middle-class Chav.' A middle person who uses vouchers, discounts, grants and other sources of income to try to emulate the upper classes. Examples include acquiring a university degree, holiday home and other status symbols. In fact the person is as much in poverty as other chavs who try to emulate the lives of the upper classes to get a sense of importance.

I won't go to any shop unless I've got some vouchers with me - I'm such a McChav!

cyberhickery

cyberhickery

Cyberhickery means an activity on the Internet that involves sophisticated, intensive and long-term abuse of an individual or group. Some consider it a type of trolling, whereas others compare it to cyberbullying or cyberstalking.

It is a more polite term for 'cyberdickery' which is derived from 'cyber-', 'trickery' and 'dick.' The hickery part is morphed from 'hickory,' which is a type of stick used to abuse others.

Person A: I am always getting picked on by this person on the Internet. They just won't stop trolling me. Whatever I post on review sites they post the opposite.

Person B: Its probably someone obsessed with cyberhickery. Why don't you try posting under a different name?

Manart

Manart means, "Manufactured Art". It is something which looks like it was crafted by an artist, such as a sculpture, but was in fact manufactured based on a pre-determined specification.

Manart is often designed by those with no artistic experience, such as by decisions on committees or boards of directors.

Person 1: The new sculptures in the town centre are wonderful; they make the place look so much better.

Person 2: They are typical manart. No artist was involved, the council just ordered them from spec.
