Russian Deadline

The 'Russian Deadline' refers to the commonly made promise of the Russian Federation, specifically Vladimir Putin, on the deadline of military offensives. Similar to the Russian idiom 'China's Final Warning' (in Russian: последнее китайское предупреждение), the Russian Deadline is not completed by the date given, and in fact tends to go far over.

Examples of this include the beginning of the war in Ukraine, when Putin had told the press that the invasion would take a matter of a few weeks. - It has now been 2.5 years.

Another example, although incomplete, is the recent statement from Putin that he "has ordered the Ukrainian armed forces to be pushed out of the Kursk region by October 1st". - As a solid counter offensive has yet to even be constructed, this is highly sceptical.

"Thomas said people would start showing up around 4, but that seems to be a Russian Deadline."
