Republicans pounce!

A headline in a newspaper or other article that describes Republicans (or other right-leaning individuals) attacking a Democrat (or other left-leaning individual) when that Democrat commits a misdeed. Always written by a reporter with left-wing political views, it will attempt to frame the Republicans as overzealous, and will either downplay, ignore, or excuse the Democrat's misdeed. Commonly done by the New York Times or Washington Post, it is often viewed as a sign of the bias within the media.

"Republicans pounce! On Democrat caught murdering young woman."

kafka trap

A logical fallacy which states that a condition is affirmed through someone's denial. This term was written about in Franz Kafka's story "The Trial", hence why it is named after him.

Commonly associated with the social justice warrior or noted racist Ibram Kendi, who states that anyone who claims they are not a racist must be a racist. However, the denial can be about anything.

"Your denial of racism is proof that you are racist."
"That's a kafka trap, learn how to think."

Mascot Horror

Mascot Horror refers to a subgenre of the horror genre of video games that emphasizes its use of elements that primarily appeal or are meant for a younger demographic. This includes things such as themed restaurants, amusement parks, toy factories, elementary schools, and other things that start out ordinarily as child-friendly, but have a darker twisted point beneath the surface.

The most common feature of it is the "mascot", a bankable large creature that is typically hostile and serves as the face of the franchise. This creature is typically not human and easily recognizable. Other elements that are involved include lore related to children, such as using the toys to remain young forever, experimenting on children, and so on.

If you're making a horror game, mascot horror might be the way to go, since kids will like it and the adults might enjoy playing it with them.

Shuffles deck, draws card

Part of a common refrain when someone, typically a social justice warrior, complains about some other group of people doing something they do not like. The complaint is often something completely random and more often than not, utterly trivial. It tends to be related to the fictional concept of cultural appropriation, but it can be about any random complaint.

The implication is that the complainer is simply venting their own hatred towards their target group, and is looking for any excuse to spout their own bigotry.

Complainer: Using a fork and putting a napkin in your lap at a Chinese restaurant is racist and clear white supremacy!

Response: Those damn white people and their...

shuffles deck, draws card,

silverware and table manners.

Kill them with kindness

Describing polite, mannered, or dignified activities directed to someone who is curt, rude, or standoffish. This is a common practice when someone is rude solely to get a rise out of their target, or because they are being ordered to by someone else. The concept is that which such polite actions being reflected, the rude individual abandons the rudeness since it no longer gives the desired effect, or will enjoy the polite company and reflect it back.

My family can be a bit standoffish to new people, but you know, give them a little kill them with kindness.

Resting Bitch Face

An expression that is held by someone, typically (but by no means always) a woman. It is characterized by having a very slight scowl in the eyebrows, lips drawn in (sometimes occurred by sucking in the bottom lip), a pronounced tilt of the head, and a slight squinting of the eyes that would convey an expression of slight pain is discomfort. When performed properly, the sufferer should look to be perpetually constipated, and yet for some reason, utterly satisfied with being so. "Smug" is a common way to describe someone with a resting bitch face.

This expression is pronounced in its commonality, as in, it's the most common expression upon the sufferer's face. It is typically a signifier of someone who is arrogant, condescending, obnoxious or just generally bitchy. Commonly seen by journalists or other people commonly on TV.

I don't know how you can watch that show, the anchor has a massive resting bitch face. You'd think the higher ups would tell her to fix that.
