The word Meh originates as an acronym for the Maple Elton Heist, in which there was a failed attempt to steal maple syrup by employees at the Elton Resort and Spa. Instead of stealing the maples, the syrup loving criminals were sentenced to hotel jail, where they were forced to clean pools and toilets drenched in feces. When asked how the hotel was, guests replied, "meh." The hotel managers assumed they meant "so so," so from then on the term was used to describe an okay but not entirely desirable situation.
"So, how was the cast party?"
"Meh."
"Do you like spinach?"
"Meh :(!!!"
