Alessia Cara is a 22 year old Canadian songwriter, musician and singer. She started her career by posting YouTube covers on her channel. Her cover of Sweater Weather by The Neighborhood got a lot of attention and that is when she got signed of Def Jam Records. She released her first single in 2015 called "Here" and it went straight to the charts. She then released an EP called "Four Pink Walls" featuring 4 songs, and then in 2016, she released her debut album called "Know-It-All." She went on her first tour called the Know-It-All Tour, then she went opened for Coldplay's tour, she did the Know-It-All Tour Part 2. She released a song called "Scars To Your Beautiful" about body image and positivity that gained a lot of spotlight. In 2017, she released a song with Zedd called "Stay" and it was a chart topper. Then, she released another song with Logic and Khalid called "1-800-273-8255" about suicide prevention. In 2018, she won a GRAMMY for "Best New Artist" Then, she released another single called "Growing Pains." Later that year she released her sophmore album called "The Pains of Growing." She is currently opening for Shawn Mendes on tour and in April she will be going on her own tour in Canada.
