NR-P

Nationally Registered Paramedic
This means a person displaying NRP or NR-P behind their name has completed a year of rigorous classroom, and hands on training to become a paramedic. They also must pass a hands on assessment of pt care along with a computer based adaptive test for knowledge. One must also continue their education through the use of CEUs (Continuing education credits) to, in many cases, exceed and some times double the state requirements for renewal of their Paramedic License or Certification.

EMT1- "Hey did you here Bill passed his National Registry tests?"
EMT2- "That's awesome, just think Bill NR-P"
EMT1- "Yea I know he studied and worked hard, Didn't his wife leave him while he was in the process of getting it though?"
EMT2- "She did but who cares, Bill is now NR-P, that's good enough"
