An Aussie subculture involving privilaged white boys aged 12 - 20 who dress up in various sports brands such as Nike, Adidas and Everlast. They tend to also wear hats not completely covering their hair and the brim pointed upwards. They also wear small backpacks.
They hang in groups of 3 - 20 and tend to loiter around skateparks, shopping malls and other populated places full of innocent bystanders.
They generally pick fights with people smaller or less powerful than they are thinking they are tough and can't be beaten. Most of them are tall and skinny and can't fight.
They bail at the sight of anyone bigger, stronger or darker skinned than they are and generally go home to their mummies at around sunset.
Many use pig latin but are illiterate anyway.
They also drive around at night beeping their horns at partygoers and picking fights.
Females lads are known specifically as 'lasses' and are generally ugly and fat.

The word "lad" is used very differently between the British and Australian.
In Australia, it is used to describe teenagers who wear a nautica, polo or nike white hat, tilted upright revealing the front of their hair with the strap at the back done up tight so it is dangling out the back, a striped polo or nautica shirt with the collar popped and either saucony or nautica trackies or shorts, topped off with nike Tnz which are fresh. Whom travel in packs and harass passers-by.
In Britain it is used to describe a Male younger than 30. However in modern British culture the word generally describes young individuals who are respected by their peers and often if they participate in behaviour that would benefit the group of friends.

A Melbournian who lurks the city and under ground with TNs and bumbags. They usually carry knives so they can roll people daily.
