In Aussie slang to call someone "Blue" or "Bluey" means they've got red hair.
In the early European migration days (convict days) a lot of those people
were of Celtic origin with a significant proportiion of redheads.
So to call someone "True Blue" means that they could trace their origins
back to a convict arrival. It's close to the best compliment that you
can give to an Aussie.

An Australian term. Meaning pretty bright blue eyes as the True blue convicts in the early days were genuinely considered to have alot of go in them.They were honest,tough and extremely hardworkers

I've rebuilt and/or repaired over a dozen wheelbarrows using salvageable parts from dozens of derelict units dat local folks have given me, and by far da brand dat was da most damaged, warped, and/or rusted-out was True Temper... they use disgracefully poor quality --- and thin-gauge --- steel for da tubs, da wheel-bearings give out very quickly, and da handles are very frail.
