what most people call emo isnt actually real!... MTV made emo out to be emotionally disturbed kids who cut there wrists cuz they think there life sucks (and some commit suicide) emo is actually a type of music back before MTV did what it did.... what you think is an emo kid is basicly a scene kid and an emationally disturbed kid mixed.
DEFENITION of a Scene Kid...
...a scene kid is alot like emo kid but different as well... they wear tight jeans tight band shirts or black shirts or other kinda fun shirts like that (almost always tight) and has his hair spiked or styled in some way and over one eye and its usually black (sometimes with oher colors streaked in), sometimes a scene guy(a scene girl would wear it most of the time) would wear eyeliner/black nail polish.... scene kids usualy wear converse/skate shoes or other kind of shoed like that, scene kids sometiems will use a cool/cute frase like rawr, band band band, rad, dandy, or other frases like such..... and MOST IMPORTANT a scene kid is happy and they DO NOT cut there wrists, and they dont hate there lives... and of course all there accessories from hottopic and other stores like that. EXAMPLE: studded bracelet or belt, fishnets(sometimes), there fav band merchandise. scene kids usually listen to music like screamo, metal, the occasional rap/hip hop song, or indie rock, or sometimes rock.
Scene Kid would listen to a band like from first to last, while an emo kid(even though emo is just something MTV made up we will use it for this example) would listen to a band like dashboard confessional, scene kids like more screamo and metal, while emos like more sad and songs about cutting, and heartbreakes.
people think scene kids are emo because there so ignorant of other people, and also most scene kids are not GAY/BI!! even though most people they are it isnt true... they arent lonely and usually have alot of friends because of there nice attitudes.
a scene kid would be like a SO CALLED EMO... just happier...

Kids who long to be "different" and are interested in anime.
Highly mistaken for "emo" kids, but no, they are very different.
Usually if you find a scene kid, they are in a group of other scene kids. They usually have over-straightend, poorly-teased hair (either black with streaks of read or other obnoxiously bright colors, or bleach blonde) and way too much eye makeup (including the guys)
They usually hangout at the mall or concerts. Most likely if you see one, they are standing around talking to one another and having no life.
More than half of their lives are spent on Myspace.
Usually have a weird obsession with Hello Kitty and/or Mitchell Davis.
99.9% of them reside in Jacksonville, Florida.
Sometimes decide to change their orientation so they draw attention to themselves.
Sometimes have 2 names, like EddieExtinction, to show their wonderful creativity.
Are extremely pale. By choice.
John: Your clothes are too tight. Did they shrink in the dryer?
EddieExtinction: No. Tight clothes are different, so I wear them. Cause I'm a scene kid. And that's what scene kids do.

Scene kids are fucking awesome!
A scene kid is a recent trend or style among teens spawned from a blend of the sub-genres punk and emo. A scene kid can be a boy or girl and generally tends to wear bright and often fluorescent colours and displays some of these typical scene kid attributes:

• Use the smilies =, =) and never the traditional :)
• Use the (Y) symbol on sites which don’t support smiley’s
• They wear lots of accessories
• They wear hoodies, and bags with bright stars and crazy patterns
• They wear flat peak hats, tight black shirt and clothes intended for members of the opposite sex
• They like graffiti
• They like school
• Wear t-shirts with the word rave written on or make music, not war

• Tend to be vegetarian or vegan and boast about it
• Listen to nu rave, indie, hip hopsuch as Klaxons, Hadouken, Foals, Enter Shikari etc
• They listen to hip hop and advertise it to try and prove to everyone else they are not emo
• Try and distinguish themselves as being different because they claim to like bands they think other people their age don’t like like McFly or Busted
• Claim they listen to a lot more music then they do
• Say they love a certain band when they have only heard one of their songs
• Can be commonly seen at gigs
• Spends a great deal of their free time customizing their myspace, regularly adding new photoshopped pictures of themselves often in outrageous camera angles that don’t include their whole face.

1. An emo clone in denial. The term was created by emo clones who were embarassed and tired of being called "emo." There is absolutely no difference between emo clones and scene kids except those refering to themselves as "scene kids" tend to be older; emo trendies who are old enough to drive.
2.
I am not emo! Even though I look and act like every other emo clone in the world, I am a scene kid! See my driver's license?

Scene Kids......some are cool.....some are bitches....
but seriously, scene kids aren't even at all "individuals" cause um.......they know nothing and there are millions of other "scene kids" in the world. talk about "individuals" huh!? hehehehe...iz like ok.......it goes like this..
"scene kid" - i am a scene kid, i am so different from everyone.
REALITY-Uhmm...even though there are thousands of so called "scene kids" out there.....uhmmm..yea you are SOO TOTALLY YOUR OWN INDIVIDUAL SCENE KID.....(talk about lame).. hahaha that is exactly my point
They think they know music, they dress like "THE REAL SCENE KIDS WHO ARE IN BANDS," they go to concerts, which is cool i guess, but seriously, jumping around and moshing. uhmmmm....no comment..
basically scene kids are "posers" .....
(VERY IMPORTANT NOTE FOR EVERYONE READING!!!!) - yea uhmm ...."scene kids" know where the "scene is"....hehehehe.....ummm....no....let me explain....SCENE KIDS ARE "AT THE SCENE" yes..BUT -"THEY ARE NOT THE SCENE AT THE SCENE." hehehe dumb bitchfarts....
lemme explain again and get it straight..... I AM A SCENE KID BECAUSE I'M IN A BAND....BASICALLY "MY BAND" IS THE SCENE.....(i play at the Catalyst, Brittanica, and various concerts and restaurants)......and my band basically hates the so called "scene kids" who dress up to look DIFFERENT or look like how their fav band dresses up.....they have no right to act "scene"
dumb scene kids who don't have a right to say they are "scene"....most don't even know music or play an instrument and most aren't in a band. you are a scene kid if you are in a band. we "scene kids" are adored by "scenebitches" who like to go to our bands shows...we are the scene......if you are in a band that is actually good and you see a typical "scene kid," just laugh at them for their ignorance and conceit, for they have no bragging rights except being fags and they think they are in a "band" that plays "good music" which in reality they are posers. us real "scene kids" (those of us in a real band that compose, write, and knows good music) should unite together and diminish the little "scenebitches" and stop their conceited trend...."scene kids will be diminished" -Flyleaf

I'm sure you can read all the other definitions, but for the sake of this generation please don't become one.
Someone you don't want to become....a scene kid.

Someone who tries not to conform to mainstream media, music and fashion but ends up conforming with all of the other "non conformists". Although to a certain extent everyone is in fact a conformist, scene kids are ostrisized so heavily because the essence of what they are conforming to is unconformity unlike other types of conformists. For example, people that buy Abercrombie and Fitch, Aeropastel, are conforming to the stereotypical "preppy" unlike scene kids who are conforming to the idea of unconformity. Scene kids in my opinion are a walking contradiction.
Stereotypically scene kids wear dark colors, tight jeans, makeup (including boys), have the same crazy disheveled edward scissor hands on crack hair cut, vans/crazy bitch stompn boots, anything out of the ordinary,(usually from hot topic) and etc.
