classic rock

The music associated with the rock revolution from the 50's to the 70's

It's sickening when kids frown upon another for having month old rap "music" as it is "old", when classic rock, an extremely popular and kickass music genre, is as old as their parents.

rock the block

To thoroughly rock a large area. "Rocking" however does not have to involve music. If you "rock" at anything, that will do. Tenacious D made this a famous saying with their TV show that aired in the late 90's on HBO.

"Dude, it don't matter who's here, we'll rock whoever comes... we'll rock the block".

Christian Rock

A sub-genre of rock that will always be second-rate due to atheists' superior headbanging skills.

Guy 1: Hey wanna listen to some Christian rock?
Guy 2: Sorry, dude, atheists are just too good at headbanging.
Guy 1: How come they're so good?
Guy 2: Christians believe in standing upright at all times, like Jesus.
Guy 1: Jesus wasn't standing upright when he was dragging his cross.
Guy 2: Yeah, well, look what happened to him.
Guy 1: So you're saying that lack of faith in a divine power will make one more hardcore?
Guy 2: For a beginner you're pretty good at disbelief. Kudos.

rock ice

v. to rock ice

Relatively new and unheard term synonymous with cool, badass or pimp depending on context. Has a benignly smug connotation when used in the first person.

Dick: "Damn, you totally just told that kid off."
Jane: "I rock ice, what can I say."

This girl came over to me in the club and whispered in my ear that she wanted to take me to the men's room stall and rock the mic.

Rock the Casbah

In response to Iran's Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini (24 September 1902 โ€“ 3 June 1989) banning all music from Iranian radio and television in July 1979, the British band The Clash made this song as their protest against it. Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini is of the islam religion, which dictates to its muslim followers intense hatred to all infidels (aka nonbelievers).

The Clash did in-fact Rock the Casbah to islam's disapproval.
