2. An expression given from one friend to another, in other words. Telling them to shut up.

Azn: "Hey guys, I can't believe you booted me, you bk's."
Jeff: "Get over it..."

RG: "That's bull, that's a headshot!!!!"

A cliche used when there is indecisive action which limits one's ability to function. It can be used to encourage one to get over a hurdle and move on, or to accept a loss.
The president's Chief of staff. told the Democrats to Get Over It, in the most confusing way. On the one hand, he provided significant new and clarification of old evidence of at least 2 of the most indefensible impeachable offenses. On the other hand, he seemed to be saying to America this as the new normal.
You should build a bridge, build a house next to the bridge, put a chair next to the house and watch the bridge every day, so you know you've gotten over it.

An Eagles Song from the 1994 album "Hell Freezes Over".
Written & sung by Don Henley in response to the daytime TV trash of the time.
It became a widely used catch phrase throughout the rest of the 90's.
The 911 attacks made the song politically incorrect and it fell off radio station playlists.
"I'd like to find your inner child and kick it's little ass" was a great line from the song get over it.

To become over is to be so big and relevant that you make something else relevant. Before someone is over, they have to do something relevant, but after they are over then they make things relevant with their presence. Pro Wrestling term.
The Rock Dwayne Johnson is over. John Cena is over. Roman Reigns did not get over.
