"What happened to you?" asked the seemingly civilized man of the woman who was struggling mightily to take each halting step. Yet she needed no reminder of how hard it was to move, or of how many years she had been in pain. She was under no obligation to answer the moronic stranger, who in any event seemed to want no answer and quickly began prattling about his skiing accident, years ago, which he believed would be fascinating to a woman with a permanent handicap, but, please... don't ask.

As the older couple made plans for the honeymoon they never had after getting married, because all of their time, money and effort had been spent raising kids, the conversation was overheard by the now adult last child still living at home whom asked, What about me ?

"What the dog doin?" is a term often used to describe utter confusion of an act that the canine seems to be committing. The dog could be walking, peeing, shitting or generally doing what a dog does. Though, people tend find themselves holding back from saying "what the dog doin?" when seeing a dog doing something rather mundane.
