Like Mardi Gras, but occurs nightly on the corner of Simon-Bolivar and Earhart by the Greyhound station in New Orleans. Usually as the sun sets. Instead of beads, you catch bullets.
Tourist: I wonder what all that noise is...is it Mardi Gras?
New Orleanian: Nah man, that's just Nigger Gras...keep your windows up and hide anything that's shiny.

A week long 'festival' surrounding a persons birthday. Typically celebrated by egocentric people who are still small children, and think their birthday of such importance that it should be celebrated with a week.
P1: "My birthday gras has started yay!"
P2: "I thought your birthday was next week"
P1: "I am so special that I need a week to celebrate my birth"
P2 (to self): "What a loser"
Mardi Gras is French for "Fat Tuesday" Originally created in Mobile, Alabama but now made into amazing shit by New Orleans, Louisiana. Although Mardi Gras Day is the big day of celebration it is the days, or should we say nights, that are really celebrated. Random hookups, exposures of oneself, and complete and total memory loss and lack of judgement occur on these wondeful nights.
Only during Mardi Gras will you see a 12 year old smoking weed and a 10 year old drinking beer. BUt only in New Orleans are people actually use to it.

Another name for the South by Southwest Interactive Conference, a booze-soaked celebration of tech startups, digital media and Internet culture. SXSWi immediately precedes the larger SXSW Music Festival. South by Southwest Interactive is Mardi Gras for nerds.
We're taking our whole startup to Nerdy Gras this year so the team can get wasted together and stumble around Austin getting free shwag.
Refers to the multi-purpose partying in New Orleans celebrating the Saints receiving the Lomardi trophy for winning Superbowl XLIV overlapping with Mardi Gras 2010 festivities.
I just booked us tickets to New Orleans to celebrate Lombardi Gras - this will be a once in a lifetime party!

literally "fat Tuesday"; a festival day ending a period of celebration and excess; usually occurs mid to late February, sometimes early March. Immediately followed by Ash Wednesday and Lent. Traditional Mardi Gras celebrations are held in Mobile, AL and New Orleans, LA
