feminism

A gift. Men are in a world where they are bombarded with media, largely pornography, that tells them that women are for one purpose: to look at and have sex with. Pornography is full of misogyny. Feminists want to make men human again; they want them to act like real human beings who think of women as real human beings too and not just as a package that is invisible without breast implants, a small waist, high heels...ect... Feminists see that men are raping women because pornography makes it seem like this is okay. Feminists see that pornography has integrated itself into our culture and American society so much that exercise classes consist of strip tease and 4 year olds are wearing mini-skirts. To clarify, this is one breed of feminism. Other feminists find pornography, an industry that puts women through miserable treatment and diseases, liberating. These other feminists find it liberating for women to fake orgasms and consistantly fulfill the desires of men.

Radical Feminism wants women to possess "power" consistantly through avenues other than sexuality. Radical Feminism wants to never have a woman's face covered in cum ever again.

feminism

Feminism is the belief held by a feminist. A feminist, in turn, is someone who believes that women are entitled to equal rights which in turn means equal pay for equal work.

While there are most assuredly some feminists who are extreme in their beliefs, and who do dislike men (usually as a result of abuse or rape) most feminists -- and one need not be a female to believe in equal rights for both sexes, in fact, one wonders why everyone doesn't believe in equality -- most feminists are simply seeking equal rights under the law, and equal pay for equal work.

Feminists do not hate men, nor are they "ugly dykes" -- it is infuriating to see hateful, useless, polarizing descriptions of this kind. In point of fact, the men who define feminists as "ugly dykes" are almost always the kind of men who create extremists; if I'm trying to obtain equal pay for my work, and I'm told that this is not a legitimate goal, but instead that I am "an ugly, hairy armpit, fat, can't get laid bitch" (this comes from one of the definitions) then I'm likely to feel extreme dislike for that individual.

If this happens enough times, you can see why a feminist would turn into an extremist and start hating the people who delight in mislabeling her and distorting her beliefs.

And of course there are greedy, ugly souls out there who are women, just as there are greedy, ugly people who are men. Given the dispersement of wealth in this country, the majority of these people are men, not women.. but there are a small minority of women who are as bad as their greedy, uncaring, "it's not my problem" male counterparts. No argument there.

The MAJORITY, however, of feminists are people who work for a living, work hard, and are frustrated at having to work twice as hard to make less money than their male colleagues. They don't want to make MORE for less work, or less experience.. simply equal pay for equal work, and equal protection under the law.

The only thing really in question is why anyone WOULDN'T support that. Why would anyone be AGAINST equal protection under the law, and equal pay for equal work unless that individual believed that women were a lesser life form or not as "human" as men, and therefore deserved to be treated without equality under the law, and without equal pay for equal work.

And if you believe that... well, then you're not quite sane, are you?

Feminists believe that all people, male and female, are entitled to equal protection under the law, and equal pay for equal work. The question is, why don't YOU believe in it?

Feminism

The radical notion that women are people too.

Feminism: the right to vote, work, study, own property, have freedom of movement, be free of sexual harassment - for ALL adults.

feminism

1. The practice and/or idea that women and men are equal.

Mary shrugged off the stereotype of the man-hating feminist and embraced FEMINISM when she realized that it could potentially help her receive higher pay at work and aid her in countless other areas of her life.

Feminism

Feminism is the movement of women that attempts to break down the barriers of gender inequality. It is thought to have began in the late 19th century with the womens campaign for the vote. It began to pick up steam in the again in the sixties with the arival of the pill but began to fizzle out in the 90s.
It is now largely regarded (particularly by ignorant skinheaded men) as obselete. "Ya vote, ya work, Wha' ya monin' 'bout ya freaky lesbo" is the general thought among this crowd.
True women can vote but that is hardly the surface of gender inequality. Women CAN work but are also expected to look after the kids and do the housework. Equal? I don't think so. Women are also statistically paid less for doing the same jobs as men and hold relatively few high powered jobs compared to men.
Sure women have made progress but there are still major inequalties in society that need to be solved.
"Why do I care?" I hear those of you who are male say. Well, you have mothers, sisters, wives etc. Wouldnt you be furious if they were disadvantaged because they were black or gay or disabled? Of course you would! So why is it ok for this to happen to your family because they are women?
You do not have to hate men or burn bras or be a lesbian to be a feminist. You just have to believe in equality.
Feminists (including men) kick ass!

Supporter of feminism: I demand equal pay for my sister!

Skinhead boss: I dont like bra burning lesbians.
