As of right now March/14/2024, I CAN NOT CLAIM THAT THESE 4 WORDS STAND FOR A REAL ACTUAL SYNDROME OF MENTAL THINKING. High hopes 4 it to become something though. "Ego Knowledge Box Syndrome" means in my opinion some1 who's decided to close off certain pathways for mental thinking, understandment, and accepting of truth or facts towards what is and is not in our world as of 2024.
My PC's "AI Companion" received the same description above. AI broke it down AI as a phenomenon where an individual deliberately narrows their mental pathways, selectively rejecting certain information or viewpoints.
Made me happy to read "AI Companion" could identify exactly the behavior I have strongly been noticing show up more with people, in many different social places, platforms, environments, etc.
In summary, the concept shared seems touch upon Cognitive Biases, Selective Information Processing, and The Impact of Personal Beliefs on Our Understanding of the world. When an Engineer is consumed with self-esteem and glory, that despite the downfalls of the supporting product, environment, or company, and subsequent technical debt they are surrounded with (and possibly creating), they assist on creating the "shinny" new thing, and taking all the glory for its bloated success.
James Bond loved being in the spotlight so much, that he sacrificed the integrity of his work and well being of his team, to speedily re-created the company website on his own without consulting his team members. The results worked well, for 1/2 of all customers, but hey! Its really shinny! His ego-engineering communications and broadcast got him promoted, though he continues to break and create technical debt for the Company.
A person who lives in a realm of their own, they think that any decision they make is 100% acceptable regardless of the reprocussions to everyone else around them. They live in a collection of fictional stories from their own mind, and all stories are fantasies that are dreamed up by a person who sadly, cannot live a life of any real substance and who most likely hasn't left his/her house long enough to experience anything that is actual truth.
