When a band reaches a point of total loss of creativity, and writes 3 different guitar riffs and 3 different beats to interchange them to create pure blandness. This can be see throughout most of AC/DC's career, especially when Bon Scott died. You don't realize this when you are 10 and love AC/DC, but you realize when you turn 11, buy Back in Black and Highway to Hell. Then you listen to the albums and think I could have just bought one of these and had them all. This is a problem in most modern bands.
David-Hey, did you hear the new Nickelback album?
Jeremy-Yeah, they used to be great, but now they have AC/DC syndrome.
David-Man, it's a shame, at least the mindless masses will listen to them now.

A particularly large use of Retroactive Continuity (retcon) in which the very nature of an entire universe, usually a fictional universe, is changed.
Any revision to a story in which essential details, and established facts are altered in such a way that nothing which has come before is sacred.
Named for the propensity of DC Comics to rewrite the history of their comic universe every few years to fix mistakes in writing, or to update characters and situations that have been stated in the intervening years.
Johnny originally told me he was at Greg's house last night, then he hit the DC Reset Button on that and owned up he was out with Sheila.
Han shooting first was Lucas' worst offense when he hit the DC Reset Button in the original Star Wars trilogy.

It's when someone famous dies all the fake fans come out and say they cared so much about the dead person but everyone knows they didn't. Also when you see someone wearing a shirt of the dead person only after they died and wouldn't have it if the person was still alive.
