Biblical Evolution

The act of interpreting the Bible differently based upon current social events. Although the words are not altered, the meaning behind the words are said to mean something different. It's also important to note, there is no common consensus in the interpretation. It's primary purpose is to argue and defense a losing position.

Atheist: "The Bible speaks of killing homosexuals. Read Leviticus 20:13."

Theist: "The meaning behind Leviticus 20:13 doesn't mean to kill homosexuals. It means that it's a sin punishable by death, but since Jesus paid for our sins and killing homosexuals is morally wrong, all they should do is repent."

Atheist: "Come on Theist, that's Biblical Evolution in which you're trying to change the meaning of the Bible. I call bullshit."

biblical truth

Something one believes, for any of a number of reasons, that is hokey in its justification. This can be because it is in the bible, or because the information comes from the internet, and has not been confirmed in some real world setting.

Yeah, that's one of those biblical truths I keep hearing about. Do you just believe everything you read on the interweb?

Quasi-Biblical

1. A term denoting a belief or system of beliefs having at least partial reference to, or derivation from the Bible. Often not substantiated by any widely accepted Judeo-Christian doctrine(s).

2. Inferences made from Biblical text not directly referenced or clearly established therein.

3. The system of beliefs held by the Jehovah witness currently standing at you're front door. Open the door and tell him he is a Quasi-Biblical piece of poop shit and that, no, you do not want a Jesus cookie.

Tom, you're beliefs are Quasi-Biblical. God did not create the Human Centipede on the 6th day of creation.
