Ponderize

A new word used in the Oct. 2015 general conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Elder Devin Durrant, which immediately became a social media sensation. Ponderize appears to be a combination of the words "ponder" and "memorize." Ponderize describes the act of selecting a verse of scripture, and posting it in a place where you will see it often. Whenever you see the scripture you will think about its meaning and how it applies to life.

After I ponderized the scripture β€œMy father dwelt in a tent” (1 Nephi 2:15) I decided there is no way Joseph Smith could make that crap up... has to come from heaven.

puddle ponderer

(1) One who ponders puddles

(2) One who over analyzes every detail of life and perceives meaning in objects or ideas that have none.

Guy: This morning I was looking at a drop of dew on a freshly mowed blade of grass and it made me think of how a human life can be cut down so cruelly by perfectionism.

Girl: I'm sorry, I can't take you seriously. You're such a puddle ponderer.
