The Magcon Effect

The unhealed part of women that will always choose a white boy even when there are significantly better options.

This is because over the past decade, Gen Z girls have grown up watching the unattainable Magcon boys (Cameron Dallas, Nash Grier, Jack Gilinsky, Shawn Mendes) and will never stop needing to prove to themselves that they can pull the token white boy.

Millenials, see “Chad Michael Murray Effect,” for further context on this phenomenon.

“Damn, I don’t even like white boys, but the Magcon effect has me picking Rob over Miguel.”

the-bloh-effect

A man who, when he enters the room, lightens the room's mood, "bloh"-ing away any sort of awkwardness and making everyone feel comfortable. When it comes to collaboration, he is the first to address any small pre-existing problems, clearing the room of any misunderstandings and makes the meeting run smoothly.

Bro that guy really has the-bloh-effect, I feel right at home at this company.

Pomelo effect

You don't see something until you actively keep thinking about it, and it was always there all the time but you didn't notice.

"Ever since I fell in love with the Thai girl I've been seeing Thai pomelos everywhere,"

"Nitwit, those pomelos were always there. You're just experiencing the pomelo effect"

The Germ Effect

When trying to call attention to the flaws of an opponent only to have your own flaws "outed" as a result of personal digging. Similar to the Streisand Effect in the legal community, the Germ Effect calls attention to yourself in an unwanted and unanticipated fashion. The phrase is derived from the great "2011 Yahoo Fantasy Football thread between 'Coach Germ' and 'Teddy Ruxpin.'"

Coach Germ tried to give me shit me for my 17th round pick, but upon taking a look at his team, his antics had "The Germ Effect" when it was discovered that he has 3 #4 wide receivers and 3 running backs who are time-shares.

The Azealia Effect

When an individual has sparked so many controversies, that the general public has become numb towards the individual's bigotry and/or insensitivity, and only use the individual's controversies for shock value and virality. The Azealia Effect is named after popular female rapper and controversial figure, Azealia Banks, as she herself has been in various controversies over the decade.

"Why no one cancel Kendrick Lamar for saying homophobic slurs?"

"Male privilege, perhaps? A bigotted fanbase? maybe even The Azealia Effect?"

loud and potentially surprising sound effect

A sentence used in any conversation that will make your friends stop talking and will do 1 of 2 things:
1. They will genuinely act surprised, like they don't know what the fuck happened
2. They will stop talking and will be weirded by the fact that you randomly just said that

Tyler: yo what's going o-
Jacob: loud and potentially surprising sound effect

The Marx Effect

When you assume something or someone is from a certain country because they have something about them which is associated with that country when in reality they are from a different country. It's called the marx effect as many people think he is russian since he invented communism, which they associate with russia even though he was actually german.

The caramelldansen effect is a sub-category of the marx effect.
