Listening to Doom Metal makes Sabbath's influence obvious.
Even though Sabbath was probably a huge inspiration to modern doom metal, it sounds different in some ways.
It's amazing how Doom Metal is smooth, and slow, as much as it is heavy and creepy.
I like it. My Dying Bride would be my fave Dmetal band.
I think Doom Metal tries to capture beauty more than most Metal genres.
I don't know. This is my personal opinion, I guess.

A newfangled genre of pop music that combines two unrelated elements: the lyrical content of emo (sob, sob, sob, SOB) and the loud guitars of today's metal.
The singers in Emo Metal bands tend to - for some reason only few can decipher - scream as much of the lyrics as humanly possible.

When I tuned into Fuse last night, they played a series of pop-punk and emo metal music videos.

1) Yet another sub-genre of metal music characterized by the fact that the drummers in this sub-genre all use their feet to play. Along with vocalizations of a "stupid" unborn fetus, the music generates nothing more than stupidity and has been called a threat to native americans everywhere. Also Jesus is real to them.
Only fat ugly people listen to marshmallows and eat the magical jesus cookie. I love stupid-metal.

A genre of music that was formed in the late 90s in the post-grunge era. The influences are the meaning of songs from the grunge bands like Nirvana and Alice in Chains and the sound from the metals bands from the 70s, 80s and early 90s like Black Sabbath, Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, and Pantera. Personally, I think nu-metal is o.k. Some of the bands are pretty good (Linkin Park, KoRn) while others are a disgrace to music all together (Limp Bizkit). The whole music war going on is pointless because nu-metal is no where near the best type of music out there and it will never be. For all of the die hard haters, just think of it as metal with maybe Megadeth or Motley Crue. For the die hard fans, listen to Queen, Sublime, STP or Foo Fighters for a little, then you'll see what good music is.
Linkin Park and KoRn are pretty good bands. Limp Bizkit is horrible. STP, Metallica, Foo Fighters and Led Zeppelin are 100x better than any nu-metal band out there.

Is a bunch of bullshit. Repetitive and watered down rock n' roll from the mid to late 80's.
Hair "metal" "musicians" consisted of young bratty slackers that dressed in drag and pitifully lacked in musical talent and creativity; these so called "musicians" really weren't musicians at all, rather they were not in it for the music; but for the money, women, drugs, rockstar image and fame that came along with it. In truth these slackers couldn't give two turds for the music they created, the only reason being these slackers joined rock bands was to follow the popular trend and become famous, sleeping there way to the top without any real effort.

Wouldn't it be funny? Like, wouldn't it be absolutely fucking hilarious, if like, some former famous Hair metalhead happend to stumble upon this website, look up "hair metal" and blush in embarrassment at all the definitions bashing hair metal, knowing that they were once a part of all that shit?
