Bliedina

A noun used in Ukraine to identify a Russian missile. It was specifically used during air raid alerts and in bomb shelters. In Ukrainian language it has two forms: "блєдіна" or "бледіна".

It was first used by the Ukrainian volunteers from the Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation. According to one of the volunteers the word is derived from the name of a French company "Blédina", as its canned baby food was a frequent sight in the warehouses storing humanitarian aid. It also bears similarities with the word "bliadina" (ukr. блядіна), which means "ugly bitch", although it is unknown if it is an intentional resemblance or a coincidence.

– Bliedina is coming, hurry up to the shelters!
Stop yelling at as, we're coming, we're coming...

– Блєдіна летить, скоріше до укриттів!
– Хвате волать, ідем ми, ідем...
