ComicsGate

ComicsGate is a GamerGate style consumer revolt within the Comic Book Industry, that was sparked by industry insiders brushing aside their own consumer base. They engaged in SJW tactics like block chains, the push of propaganda, people being fired for political views, tampering with comic book classics, etc. Dismissing their own consumers, & their concerns (valid or otherwise) with bland accusations of discrimination. When you push your own consumers this way they grow increasingly frustrated & understandably bitter for this mistreatment. So they banded together & talked about this occasionally. Which eventually lead to the start of ComicsGate.

Fans: " i just don't understand why the classic characters we love so much were replaced, why are they all gender-bent all of a sudden?"
Industry insider: "Stop criticizing that! That's racist!"
Fans: "...Wait what? How?"
Industry insider: Help! Were being attacked!
Fans: "What? What did we do??"
Industry insider: block*
(rinse & repeat, until...)
Fans: Ok! that's it! We've had enough! #comicsgate!

Comicsgate

A low-rent spin-off of Gamergate that campaigns against superhero comics that include characters who are non-white or non-straight, female characters with small breasts, and stories that involve modern social themes; by trolling, cyberstalking, doxxing, and otherwise harassing any female, POC, LGBT, and progressive/liberal straight-white-male writers and artists who create them.

Straight White Male Virgin: "Comicsgate is a reader protest movement to get leftist politics and SJWs out of our entertainment and Make Comics Great Again!"
Otto: "You're just a white suburban punk."

Comicsgate

By all intents and purposes Comicsgate was created to help jump start a failing comic book industry. All over the country comic book shops were on a steady decline due to having an abundance of low selling comics. Linking most low selling comics to those with extreme leftist ideologies, comic book fans of different races, ages, genders, and even political beliefs banded together to support stories that didn't have the bias, clichΓ©s, and propaganda normally found in extreme leftist comics. Unfortunately, seeing this as an attack, the extreme left caused massive backlash against Comicsgate by spreading rumors that Comicsgate itself was primarily composed of women hating, racist, alt-right, white supremacists that were against diversity. Not only that, but extreme leftists that worked within the comic book industry targeted people who did not share their beliefs to be fired and or blacklisted from their jobs.

Normie: I've been seeing this pop up in a few places lately, but what's comicsgate?

Comicsgate Opposition: It's a bunch of alt-right incels that tweet about comics in their mom's basement.

Comicsgate Defender: People who support well written stories without all the bias and unnecessary politics.

A bunch of pathetic lowlifes bitching about comic book artists, writers and reviewers that don’t meet the trolls level of standard, yet hide behind their twitter accounts to bitch.

Joe: it’s the revolution to take out the toxic creators destroying comic books today!!!
Jack: dude, you need a girlfriend.
