A place where you sit around a computer for eight hours watching movies, texting, and playing minesweeper.
Other responsibilities include adding/removing computer hardware, testing software, checking the database, replacing printer cartridges, ordering computer parts, and troubleshooting around the office.
Also the fax machine is always broken and there's never coffee in the break room.
Working in an IT department isn't very convincing but the pay rate is awesome, especially if you're fresh out of college.
1. A classic film by Martin Scorcese, a remake of the Hong Kong film "Infernal Affairs", starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Mark Wahlberg, Martin Sheen and Alec Baldwin. Follows Boston mob member Frank Costello (Jack Nicholson), as he recruits an orphan (Damon) at a young age for his mob.
The movie itself focuses Damon as he works for Nicholson, but infiltrates the State Police, and Leonardo DiCaprio, who is working for the State Police but who infiltrates Nicholson's crew. The film revolves around each "rat" trying to figure out who the other one is, and is a great ride all the way. It won awards, and was recieved with overwhelmingly positive reviews by critics. The film's theme focus on the line between authority and vigilante, cop and criminal, especially during the third act.
2. A film with possibly more usage of the word "fuck" than many films put together
Some great fucking lines from "The Departed":
Billy Costigan: Nobody's fucking searching me, search me for fuckin what?
Frank Costello: Contra-fuckin-band, take off your fucking shoes
Billy Costigan: Fuck you! Fuck you, I'm fucking arresting you!
Ellerby: Fuck yourself.
Dignam: I'm tired from fucking your wife.
Ellerby: How's your mother?
Dignam: Good, tired from fucking my father.
French: Fuck it!
Billy: Where the fuck were you?
Delahunt: You're fuckin late, get in the fuckin van!
Sullivan: Just kill me! Just fuckin kill me!
Dignam: Whoop-dee-fuckin-do, you're no fuckin cop!

A place within your office you call if your work computer isn't working properly.
Often filled with lazy arrogant foreigners who belittle you and think you are stupid and don't know how to work a computer.
Most common response from IT: "Have you tried turning it off and on?"
2nd most common response from IT: "You must have forgotten your password, try it again"
The level of frustration you feel when dealing with your IT Department can make you avoid it at all costs.
