intersexed

The condition of being neither male nor female, but something in between. Often refers to an infant with "ambiguous" genitalia. Intersexed conditions include Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome, Klinefelter's Syndrome, vaginal agenesis, ovotestes, and anyone who is not XX or XY. Estimated to be between 1% and 0.01% of the population.

Many FtMs claim to have been born intersexed, but usually it's bullshit: they're just traumatized by the idea that they were born female.

Intersex

Intersex is a general term used for a variety of conditions in which a person is born with a reproductive or sexual anatomy that doesn’t seem to fit the typical definitions of female or male. For example, a person might be born appearing to be female on the outside, but having mostly male-typical anatomy on the inside. Or a person may be born with genitals that seem to be in-between the usual male and female typesβ€”for example, a girl may be born with a noticeably large clitoris, or lacking a vaginal opening, or a boy may be born with a notably small penis, or with a scrotum that is divided so that it has formed more like labia. Or a person may be born with mosaic genetics, so that some of her cells have XX chromosomes and some of them have XY.

intersex

A congenital anomaly of the reproductive and sexual system. Intersex people are born with external genitalia, internal reproductive organs, and/or endocrine system that are different from most other people. There is no single "intersex body;" it encompasses a wide variety of conditions that do not have anything in common except that they are deemed "abnormal" by society. What makes intersex people similar is their experiences of medicalization, not biology. Intersex is not an identity. While some intersex people do reclaim it as part of their identity, it is not a freely chosen category of gender--it can only be reclaimed. Most intersex people identify as men or women, just like everybody else.

The Intersex Society of North America (ISNA) is devoted to systemic change to end shame, secrecy, and unwanted genital surgeries performed on people born with an anatomy that someone decided is not standard for male or female. We urge physicians to use a model of care that is patient-centered, rather than concealment-centered.

anyone born w/ sexual characteristics of neither male nor female; NOT a defect

Intersex aren't LGBT, they have their own community. Nonetheless, deserves as much rights as other people do.
