I just had a total flightmare from New York to LA. Crying babies, the whole nine yards.

When sitting on a plane and something bad happens such as a delay, or turbulence, or a crying baby. A very bad flight experience.
Can you believe we sat on the runway 3 hours before the plane took off? That was a flightmare!

To have a terrible time in relation to flights, flying, the booking of flights etc. A nightmare in relation to a flight or flights.
"I am having a total flightmare trying to sort this trip out! There are no connecting flights unless I was a 37hour layover!"
A nightmare involving flight delays or cancellations. This term was created after two flights with two airlines were cancelled within 24 hours.
Having one cancelled flight is bad, but two? That’s a flightmare!
