A swedish word that's allegedly untranslatable. But it basically means ''not too little not too much just right'' However, even if it sounds like it, it doesn't mean balanced or moderate, it has a more satisfying tone to it, but at the same time not ideal or excellent. If something is lagom it's not ideal but rather preferably and at the same time acceptable. Kind of ideal but in a lazy kind of way.
''Yo Tommy, was the coffee too strong?''
''No Dave, it was lagom.''

Not too much/little/bad/good.
At the table in the kitchen, there were three bowls of porridge. Goldilocks was hungry. She tasted the porridge from the first bowl.
"This porridge is too hot!" she exclaimed.
So, she tasted the porridge from the second bowl.
"This porridge is too cold," she said
So, she tasted the last bowl of porridge.
"Ahhh, this porridge is lagom”, she said happily and she ate it all up.
In swedish, lagom is an amount that is enough four yourself but does not make you seem greedy.

A Swedish word that describes an amount. It originates from the vikings. If they only had one cup to drink beer from, it was passed around the table, and each person should only drink an amount that made sure everybody would get some (Laget om = For everyone in the team). Therefore the amount is not always the same. If they had a lot of beer, they could drink more and the other way around. Basically it means "the perfect amount". However it has been defined (as a student prank) in the city of Lund, Sweden so you can actually go there to find out the exact definition...

Lagom is a swedish term meaning "just about enough but not too much". Efor yourself but so that there are still enough for others.
"Hur mycket smör ska jag ha?" ("How much butter should I use?")
