When you know you're going have a ridiculous amount of alcohol over the weekend and you decide to go out for a few drinks the night before as preparation - it's the drinking equivalent of stretching.

"It's the stag do this weekend, the pretox will be in the local from 7 tonight"

The state of already being intoxicated when showing up at an event that involves drinking.

"Hey, just so you know, before we go to the club I'm meeting up with a friend so I may be a bit pretoxicated."
