taxi ride

When you take a girl home after a night out to do a bit of the horizontal shuffle and in a moment of painful sobriety you realise you've pulled a whale. Realising you need to get this mammoth out of the house before your mates see her you stop riding her and call her a taxi home. Like most taxi-rides the money you pay is rarely worth it.

"Dude what was going on in your room last night?"
"taxi-ride"
"oh... are you OK?"
"I'd rather not talk about it."

progressive taxi

a polite way of requesting a hand-holding walkthrough of something for an idiot

Comes from aviation. When a plane lands at an airport, the tower usually gives the pilot directions to his gate. If the pilot can't remember the directions he can request a progressive taxi, where the tower guides the pilot to his gate (turn left... go straight 200 yards... turn right). This is a nuisance to the tower because it requires that someone usually focused on difficult job of directing traffic in the sky to divert their attention to something stupid like giving simple directions on the ground.

Store clerk 1 to clerk 2: this gentleman needs a progressive taxi to the mens shoes section
store clerk 2: Got it. Come with me sir, ill show you where they are.

Swayze Taxi

noun. when one puts one's car on cruise control (at speed), and climbs into the passenger seat, where usually a dance is performed for a few seconds before the driver returns to his proper seat, the whole process occurring without the driver touching the steering wheel. a particularly high form of 'going dumb', derived from ghostriding, it is ridiculously dangerous and should never be attempted by anyone. ever

verb form. 'swayze taxi', 'to swayze taxi', 'swayze taxied'

I was going about 55 down a nice, straight road, with no other cars around, so I pulled a Swayze Taxi and did a little shimmy with a thizz face in the passenger seat.

punjabi taxi

the empty vehicle driven by a Punjabi Taxi-man at 2 am around stevenage, hitchin and luton, with little regard for speed limits, the highway code or safety of other road users, while on their way to a fare.

The expression is quite common in stevenage where it originated, due to the large amount of Taxi cabs driven by people of asian origin.

Note, that even non-asian taaxi drivers can be refered to this way if they are driving in the manner describes above.

"shall we walk or take the punjabi taxi?"
