Illiterature

Bad writing.

1. I hear your novel has sold 150,000 copies. I didn't read it, but I bet it's a great example of contemporary illiterature.

2. I'm a Jane Austen fan. I haven't kept up with contemporary illiterature.

3. Dear Sir: Thank you for submitting your very well-written manuscript. Unfortunately, at this time, we are only interested in serious illiterature.

illiterature

The re-publication of a literary work in non-written form.

All book-on-tape and movie based on book would be considered Illiterature.

illiterature

The stupid bullshit women read in their spare time; everything from trashy, soft-core (and slightly rapey) "romantic" novels, to Cosmo and self-help books. May include vampires, serene landscapes with big, sweaty farmhands, and coupons for Ben & Jerry's.

Girl: Is 50 Shades of Grey fiction or non-fiction?
Guy: Neither, it's illiterature.

Guy: Here, I bought you some illiterature to read at the beach
Girl: OMG, thank you so much I just CANNOT get over the Twilight series!

illiterature

(n.)
A piece of classic or contemporary literature that is exceedingly and painfully dull, boring, inane, banal, and unreadable.

Illiterature is usually not read on one's own accord. Teachers usually assign illiterature to students in times of rest such as spring break. Man students fail their English classes due to this unreadable material.

"Tess of the D'Urbervilles is an excelent example of classic British illiterature."

"The illiterature that my English teacher assigned us to read is simply too dull to read for more than five minutes at a time."
